WhatApp the most popular chatting app got the voice call feature this year and users have been enjoying it no doubting the fact. Now, if a German blog has to be believed, WhatsApp is going to have video calling feature too. This is going to be an important addition to the app and give the users another reason to make it an important part of their daily routine. For now users have to look for other apps like Viber, Skype or Facebook’s own Messenger app for video calling. Getting the video calling feature on WhatsApp will further strengthen their position as the most used communication app in the world.
Mackeropf has posted screenshots of the unreleased 2.12.16.2 version (for developers) of WhatsApp application for iOS platform which has video calling capabilities. As you can see from the pictures, the app will give the user option to switch between front or rear camera and also mute the mic if needed. Similar to the voice calling feature, WhatsApp video calling feature is going to have decline/accept button and the image of the video caller. There will be a small box which shows your own video at the bottom.
Interestingly this new feature will be accompanied by multiple chat tabs that allows you to switch between chats without going to the main window menu enlisting all your chats. This will be a good addition since most of the times you have multiple chatting tabs on WhatsApp and switching back-and-forth can be a bit of hassle.
Both these features are expected to roll-out soon on iOS devices and most likely on Android and Windows mobile devices too. The features will serve well for people who don’t like to have too many communication apps on their phone and want an application that can solve all their texting, voice calling and video calling needs.
